Do you get a rush of adrenaline when you drive over an ant in your car? No, you simply don’t notice or think about it. That, it takes more, than other people, for them to be aroused, for an adrenaline rush.Īdrenaline is a largely irrelevant concept when related to psychopaths. These studies also seem to bring up the thought, if many of their antisocial, thrill seeking, impulsive behaviors are them trying to unconsiously make up for this physiological deficit. ![]() Their physiological pattern adds up to what most would call, keeping their cool ( like during their antisocial acts) or being "cold- blooded". In psychological terms I think this is shown by, they are less anxious and fearful in certain situations that others would be. Studies show they have less of the stress hormone cortisol, a weak startle response, they perspire less in stressful situations, they have a lower heart rate. It seems from what i have read and researched (like abstracts for work in college), the studies seem to show that psychopaths and those with APSD, in simple terms have less of an adrenaline response going on in their systems. If you are saying or also asking is there less adrenaline in their system, that is something else. ![]() ![]() Is the question do they feel less aroused or "charged up"? That's one thing. Do psychopaths feel less adrenaline than other personality types?
